Surrendering in European Casino Blackjack

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

Quite a few European casino’s allow the player to surrender their bets if they please to do so. We’re talking about choosing to get 50% of your original bet back if you decide not to try and play the bank. It’s quite the interesting concept, simply because it lowers the house edge by quite a decent margin. It’s something worth talking about in a strategical way, even though it’s hardly used in the US.

According to the dealers at Knokke Casino – the best surrender play is to surrender any 15 and 16 against any 10 or 9. If you have the option of surrendering against an Ace – surrender the 14 too.

Simple, yet I’m not sure they’re right. I’m off to do some research as to why not to surrender against eights in specific situations – and I’ll be back with my conclusions asap! :)

Grand Casino Brussels Opening Night

Friday, February 8th, 2008

The opening night of the Grand Casino Brussels in the capitol of Europe; Brussels. The casino got robbed in its first few months, but has evolved well ever since. It’s a cosy and somewhat small casino, with limited playing options…

The restaurant is good — dealers are average — video is in French. Enjoy! ;)
