Grand Casino Brussels Opening Night

February 8th, 2008

The opening night of the Grand Casino Brussels in the capitol of Europe; Brussels. The casino got robbed in its first few months, but has evolved well ever since. It’s a cosy and somewhat small casino, with limited playing options…

The restaurant is good — dealers are average — video is in French. Enjoy! ;)

A final look at Binion’s Casino

February 6th, 2008

Binion’s was quite the big name in Vegas: it hosted the first World Series of Poker, it had thousands of regular players for decades, and was one of the most well-recognized logos Vegas was the home of…

Today, Binion’s is no more. This video was taken right before/after it got shut down for safety reasons…

A shame — but hey, nuff left! :D

The Caesar’s Palace Poker Room

January 5th, 2008

Finding the Caesar’s Palace poker room is like finding the perfect pair of jeans. It is difficult to find but once you have you are pleased you have made the effort. It is a poker playing haven away from all the busy sound of Casino and bars. If you want to focus on your game, then this is the place for you. Obviously this has some downsides. One being that you don’t get as many ‘have-a-goes’, as you really have to be looking for the poker room.

Caesar’s Palace poker room is easily one of the largest poker rooms in Vegas it is well decorated and the plasma screens adorn nearly every surface. It is a great playing environment.

CAESARS PALACE POKER ROOM ENTRANCE

The competition lacks the high number of drunken tourists that other rooms have, possibly because of the location, but it the competition is actually quite soft.

The dealers are professional and in the most part pleasant. They make few mistakes and they are fast, which is great for the hands per hour rate. That being said the dealers could maybe sharpen up on the pleasantries as it goes a long way to making a good poker experience.

The management at Caesars’ Palace is very good. It seems like a seasoned and professional team run the floor. They could show the dealers a thing or two about customer service.

The best thing about Caesar’s Palace for tournament players is the separate tournament room. The buy ins are low and the tournament structures are one of the best in town.

Caesars Palace Shooting — I mean: wtf?!

December 26th, 2007

Look, we all like to shoot guns, right? (no, but aaa’aaight)

Alright, we all like to gamble, right? (aa’aaaight!)

But: we all know casino’s are f***** FILLED with camera’s, right? (hell yeah!)

Okay — SO DONT SHOOT PEOPLE IN A FRIKKING CASINO!! This guy is so stupid, I just can’t describe how numb he really must be — shooting a handgun in an elevator of the famous Caesars Palace casino in Las Vegas.

More info on the shooting can be read on the website of the Las Vegas Sun.

The Implosion of the Stardust

I mean, there’s just nothing I can say but: WHY IN GODS NAME IS EVERYONE CELEBRATING?!

Rest In Peace, Oh Stardust Hotel & Casino

December 24th, 2007

The Stardust really was one of the true classics on the Las Vegas strip. Always classy, always a true gem and right now — no longer there. It hurts Vegas enthusiasts like myself to see these classic casino’s go, but there’s just nothing we can do — and that’s simply because we’re not communists…

The free market didn’t like The Stardust, so The Stardust had to go… It’s capitalism, baby!

Video below is a tribute to the Stardust — enjoy it! :)

December 13th, 2007

Youtube user Sam shows us his (beautiful) Rio hotel room in this excellent video. He obviously had a great time at the hotel that houses the ever so famous World Series of Poker. :)

I’m not too happy with the view of the room — but I’m sure you won’t be to bothered with that staring at that 50 inch screen. :D

Helicopter ride above the Las Vegas Strip

December 11th, 2007

Man have I always wanted to do this… These guys are lucky bastards doing an excellent heli flight over the full Las Vegas Strip (and more). We can see quite a few of the big hotel & casino resorts…

My personal favorite in this vid is by far the MGM Grand. Damn does that hotel look awesome from the sky! :D

Bellagio fountains doing Viva Las Vegas

December 9th, 2007

What’s the Bellagio most famous for? Their pokerroom? Whaaat? No way! Their fountains! The beautiful Bellagio fountains (in the Bellagio lake) have various great shows in which they’re tuned to the music — and this one is my personal favorite…

Ladies and gentlemen — enjoy Elvis Presley & The Bellagio fountains – Viva Las Vegas! ;)

A nice view at a Bellagio room!

December 9th, 2007

Tipsfortravellers guide us through a Bellagio room (lake view, which means you can enjoy a view of the fountains AND the Strip) — and I have to say I can’t wait to go there myself. Beautiful accommodation, and from what I’ve heard one of the most exciting cardrooms in Vegas.
